In recent years, the measurement of low mass lepton pairs has received an increasing interest. Dilepton are penetrating probes and, therefore, provide important information about the properties of dense and excited hadronic matter.
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together experimentalists and theorists from around the world to discuss the current understanding of the dilepton production process. The issues to be addressed will include in-medium changes of hadronic properties, basic questions about the heavy ion reaction dynamics and the relevance and usefulness of low mass pairs for the study of the Quark Gluon plasma and chiral restoration.
